Ghana's trusted sanitary pad maker since 1994

Fay International Limited is a female-founded Ghanaian manufacturer making safe, chemical-free sanitary and maternity pads since 1994. We make Faytex — sold in pharmacies and supermarkets across Ghana, hospital-recommended, and certified by Ghana's own government bodies, not just imported from abroad.

The cameo emblem — a woman's silhouette in Faytex blue — has appeared on every Faytex pack since 1994. It is our mark of trust, quality and care.

Our story

Why did Faytex start making pads in Ghana?

In the early 1990s, imported sanitary pads were expensive, inconsistent in quality, and — for many Ghanaian women — inaccessible. Sarah Galloway Hage-Ali saw the gap: Ghana deserved its own safe, affordable, locally-made sanitary protection.

In 1994, Fay International Limited was established in Accra, and the Faytex brand was born. From the beginning, the focus was on two things: safety (no harmful chemicals) and quality (meeting and exceeding the standards of leading international brands). Thirty years later, that commitment has not changed.

Today, Faytex is stocked in pharmacies and supermarkets across all major Ghanaian regions, supplied to hospitals and institutions, and recommended by health professionals. The pads are still made in Ghana — employing Ghanaians, using Ghanaian quality certification, serving Ghanaian women.

The Faytex cameo

The cameo: a mark of trust since 1994

Every Faytex pack carries the woman's-profile cameo — a small oval medallion in Faytex blue. It was part of the original brand from day one, representing the Ghanaian woman at the centre of everything we make. It is not decoration; it is a promise.

When you see the cameo, you know the pad inside was made with care — no shortcuts on materials, no compromise on certification, no hidden chemicals.

How does Faytex ensure its pads are safe?

Every Faytex pad goes through a manufacturing process that deliberately excludes chlorine bleaching, dioxin, latex and artificial fragrances. The result is a pad that is safer against sensitive skin and free from industrial by-products that conventional pads can carry.

Fay International is certified by Ghana's Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) and meets Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. Our pads are hospital-recommended — not a marketing claim, but a reflection of real clinical confidence.
