Every flow is different — and that's normal

Your period changes throughout your life — and it can change from month to month. A pad that worked perfectly last year might not feel right today. Understanding your flow, and matching it to the right pad, makes a real difference to comfort, confidence and your daily life.

What is regular flow, and which pad works for it?

A regular or moderate flow means you need to change your pad every 3–4 hours during the day. For regular flow, Faytex Classic is the all-rounder: extra-absorbent, soft-topped and sized for everyday use. It is available in Regular and Long — most women find Regular ideal for everyday days and Long for the heavier days of a regular period.

What is best for a heavy or overnight flow?

A heavy flow soaks a pad in under 2 hours, or fills a regular pad overnight. For heavy days and overnight protection, Faytex Ultra has a high-capacity absorbent core, extra length and wide wings — so it stays secure even when you move in your sleep. If you find yourself waking overnight to change your pad, Ultra's extra length gives extra peace of mind.

Which pad is best after childbirth?

After giving birth, you will experience postpartum bleeding called lochia — similar to a heavy period — for the first days and weeks. This is not the time for an everyday pad. Faytex Maternity is extra-large, extra-soft and extra-absorbent, designed for the heavy flow of the postpartum period. It is gentle on skin that is healing and sensitive after delivery.

What about light days, spotting or daily freshness?

Towards the end of your period, or on very light days, a full-size pad can feel bulky and unnecessary. Faytex Eve Mop-Up Towels are slim, breathable liners for light days, spotting and daily freshness. They are discreet, chemical-free, and designed to move with you without discomfort.

Is there an eco-friendly or sensitive-skin option?

If you have sensitive skin that reacts to conventional pads — or if sustainability matters to you — Faytex Bamboo Rolls are a natural alternative. The bamboo-fibre core is renewable, naturally antibacterial and free from the synthetic materials that irritate some skin types. Because all Faytex pads are made without chlorine bleaching, dioxin, latex or added fragrance, every Faytex pad is a safer option than many conventional brands. For the most sensitive skin, Bamboo is the gentlest.

Can I switch pads during my cycle?

Absolutely — and many women do. A typical approach is to use Faytex Ultra for the first two days when flow is heaviest, switch to Faytex Classic for the middle days, and finish with Faytex Eve liners for the last light days. There is no rule that says you must use one product for your whole period. Listen to your body and use what feels most comfortable and secure.

Common questions

How do I know if my flow is heavy or light?

A light flow means you change your pad every 4–5 hours or more and it is never soaked. A regular flow means changing every 3–4 hours. A heavy flow means changing every 1–2 hours, or soaking through to your clothes. If you consistently soak a pad every hour for several hours in a row, that is worth discussing with a health professional.

Can I use different Faytex pads on different days of my cycle?

Yes — this is very common. Many women use Faytex Ultra for the first two heavy days, switch to Faytex Classic for the rest of their period, and use Faytex Eve liners for the final light days. Mix and match to suit your flow.

Why choose Faytex over imported brands?

Faytex is made in Ghana — so it is fresher, more affordable and more accessible than imported alternatives. It is FDA, GSA and GMP-certified, made without chlorine bleaching, dioxin or added fragrance, and hospital-recommended. The same quality and safety as leading international brands, made locally by Ghanaians.
